Ernie Schramayr

Hamilton, Ontario    CANADA

Ernie.jpg

I am a married father (Liesa is my wife) of a two year old son (Justus) and a 5 year old daughter (Lyric).

For most of my life, I have been a competitive athlete and even played professional football for 5 years. Since 1993, I have worked full time as a personal trainer/ fitness consultant and have contracted about 15 trainers to work for my business called All Canadian Fitness. For the last two years, ACF has been located in an 1800 square foot studio called....The Studio!

Moving into that location has seen our gross grow from about 72000 to 180 000 and we are on pace to do about 250 000 this year. I love what I am now doing but can see that to REALLY grow will require a dedicated, elite group of professionals working with me to allow me to maximize my talents for building relationships and businesses.

In my personal life, my passions include mountain biking, travelling and especially playing guitar and performing.

Primary Goals

All Canadian Fitness will be consistently doing 150 sessions per week by March 2007. The sessions will be split between 4 trainers besides myself and I will be personally training clients 4 days per week.

I will take every monday as a day to work on business building and will not be training clients on that day. This will give me a real sense of freedom and control not only on setting the agenda for the coming week but also on how I spend my weekends.

Here's What Ernie Feels He Can Contribute to the Members of the Group

I have been doing this for over 13 years now. Literally every single "thing" in my business from workout forms and waivers to our contact list to the way that we do our billing has been created by me. All Canadian Fitness has grown from $8000 per year to (possibly) $300 000 this year. I have tried almost every marketing thing you could imagine. I have cold called, succesfully, radio stations, magazines, newspapers, physicians etc... and have figured out how to build instant rapport with absolutely anyone. I have also studied more training, selling, marketing, acheivement books and tapes/ CDs than you could imagine. I have also never done anything else for a living since I decided to do this. I listen to others who are where I once was and smile because I am certain that I know how to help them do it better. Having said all this, I am very restless and constantly seeking ways to improve because I know without a doubt that there are others doing it way better than me.

Here's What Ernie Would Most Like the Members of the Group to Do To Help Him

I am seeking ways to build an elite team with united goals that will really put All Canadian Fitness over the top. I need the group's help in figuring out how to have a group of professionals that will push my business while also establising them as "superstars" with real careers. Help me to learn how to make this work financially, emotionally and realistically.

The Ernie Evolution (evidence that betterment is already in motion)

This past year has been one of "taking control". Although, we have been succesful in the past, there has always been mayhem surrounding billing, booking, scheduling, catching up on taxes, paying off debt etc... In the last twelve months, we have added two new trainers to our team, added my wife as administrator three days per week, hired an accountant and bookkeeper and installed "fitness studio management software" to make booking WAY easier. We have also streamlined our billing and collecting procedures to include auto debit, credit card and debit payments. Billing is done automatically twice per week and as a result, we are almost never into our line of credit which was overdrawn, without exception, for over 10 years! In terms of training, we have almost doubled our number of training sessions and have added programs like Transform and the Answer which have generated lots of media attention. We have been featured at least 6 times in local newspapers and magazines. All of the above changes happened rather quickly and came from a place where I was on the verge of burnout and actually looking to change careers. The help of a business consultant to really show me potential and then the guidance of Phil Kaplan through his "Vault" program were the difference between giving up and pushing on to new levels of success.
