You know them.  You've come in contact with them perhaps more frequently than you would have liked.  Now it's time to stare them right in their innocent-looking but oh-so-deadly faces.  I need not say any more.  You know who they are.

OK, well maybe you know them as a group, but perhaps you need a bit of help attaching the visual to the name.  The little red fellow appears so cheery.  He's always ready to convince you things can wait, relaxing is more important than doing, and putting things off is the best way to go.  Those little red horns have more sting than you may think, and don't neglect to notice how sharp his teeth are.  He smiles as he bites, but you don't feel a thing.  He stomps on your dreams so hard but so quietly you barely realize they're being shut down.  Yes, he is the monster we know as Procrastination.

Every month there will be an assignment.  Much as you direct your clients, the program is designed to prompt you to take small actions that stack upon themselves for huge outcomes.  Of course, you'd identify Procrastination working on one of your clients.  the client would miss workouts, put off "starting eating right," and promise that "as-soon-as blah blah blah" he or she will give up sweets and alcohol.  That's the amazing thing about Procrastination.  It's easy to notice it when it's affecting others, but would you notice it when it's creeping up on you?

Drew was a great student.  He received an academic scholarship to a top college, and when he arrived, he attended a frat party for the first time. That's when he was bitten.  Procrastination got him.  He began in pre-med but has since decided to concentrate on X-box.  He'll start studying for his exams tomorrow . . . and if not tomorrow, then the day after tomorrow, or maybe the day after that.  The way he's headed, he'll be an X-box champion borrowing money from his family promising that he'll go "back to school" tomorrow, and if not tomorrow . . . well . . . you know.

So here are two important questions:

1. Are you defeating the monsters?

2. Have you completed the most recent assignment?
